While ducks source their energy from carbohydrates, we also recognize the important role that grains, vegetables, and fruits play in their diet. For this reason, we maintain a veggie farm that is packed with nutrient-rich kale or 'sukuma wiki' as we call it in Kenya, which we lovingly chop up for their enjoyment. Along with Riboflavin, Vitamin A and Calcium, it provides them Vitamin E which boosts their immunity.
From an environmental perspective, our shamba contributes to environmental conservation and climate resilience by preventing soil erosion and absorbing manure from our poultry houses.
